Cadet Development

Throughout a young person’s cadet career, they will have the opportunity to develop bother their leadership and team working skills. In Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing, cadets can attend both Junior and Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) courses where they are given the opportunity to develop their leadership, self-discipline and interpersonal skills.

These NCO courses are developed to provide young people with the skills they will need within the RAF Air Cadets as they climb up the ranks; however these skills are also exceedingly useful in civilian life and can also make the difference between being offered a place at university or being offered a job.

It isn’t all about leadership training though. Cadets have the opportunity to gain a wide variety of skills such as First Aid, fieldcraft skills, sports qualifications, flying and gliding experience, and much more. If you’d like to find out more, check out all of the activities on our What We Do page.
